Privacy Policy
Last updated 4 November 2026
BringYaPet is operated by Matthew Simon Goodwin (ABN 47 747 430 663). This page explains what personal information we collect, why, who sees it and how long we keep it.
What we collect
We only collect what you type into our forms, plus a small amount of technical data needed to keep the site working and safe.
- Room listings: your name, email address, room title, suburb, state, postcode, weekly rent, description and the pet rules you set.
- Enquiries: your name, email address and message, sent to the host of the room you contact.
- The private seeker list: your name, email address, state, budget, pet type and any notes you choose to add.
- Reports: the reason and details you give when you report a listing.
- Technical data: to limit spam and abuse we keep short-lived counters keyed to a one-way scrambled form of your network address. We do not store your raw IP address in our database. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs.
What is public
Published room pages show the room title, location, rent, description and pet rules. Email addresses and the host name are not shown on public room pages. Everything else you submit is private to us, and enquiries go only to the relevant host.
How we use it
We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.
- To verify email addresses, review listings and send you the links you need to manage a listing or confirm an enquiry.
- To pass an enquiry to the host so they can reply to you.
- To moderate the site, act on reports and protect people from scams and misuse.
- To keep the service secure and within fair-use limits.
Who we share it with
We use two service providers to run the site: Resend, which delivers our emails, and Cloudflare, which hosts the site and its database. They handle data for us and may do so on servers outside Australia. We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect someone from serious harm.
How long we keep it
- Unverified listings and seeker sign-ups are deleted after 7 days.
- Enquiries are deleted after 90 days.
- Rejected and filled listings are deleted after 90 days.
- Closed reports are deleted after 180 days.
- Rate-limit counters are deleted after 2 days.
- If a host deletes a listing that has been reported, we remove its enquiries and hide it from public view, but we keep a limited moderation record: the reported listing details and associated reports are retained privately. We normally remove that record 90 days after deletion once all reports are closed, but an unresolved report can require longer retention.
- Verified seeker-list entries and live listings stay until you delete them or ask us to.
Cookies and browser storage
Visitors do not receive tracking or advertising cookies, and we do not run third-party analytics. If you use Saved rooms or the Pet Fit Finder, your shortlist is stored only in your own browser and is never sent to us as an account. The only cookie we set is a short-lived sign-in cookie used by the site administrator.
Your choices
You can delete a listing at any time using the private management link emailed to you. To ask for a copy of your information, to correct it or to have it deleted, email matt@mattg.com.au from the address you used and we will respond within a reasonable time, normally within 30 days.
Complaints
Please contact us first at matt@mattg.com.au and we will try to fix the problem. If you are not satisfied you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Changes
We may update this policy as the service grows. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version.
